How All School Activities Work
The All School activity is the capstone of each quarter.
Step 1 – In the classroom: Each class completes its grade-level activity for this quarter’s theme, Cultural Festival.
Step 2 – As a whole school: Students gather for the All School activity to showcase and celebrate what they created and learned in their classrooms.
What’s included: Each All School toolkit has three documents: an Activity Overview, an Activity Checklist, and Educator Resources.
Elementary ALL School
In 1776, New Mexico was already home to multiple cultures that shaped the unique character of the region. Since then, people from all over the world have come to call New Mexico home. The All-School Cultural Festival provides elementary students with an opportunity to celebrate this diversity and explore the rich histories, traditions, and cultural contributions present in their school community and across the state.
Middle School ALL School
New Mexico’s cultural landscape has evolved from its early foundations in 1776 to a vibrant and diverse present-day community. The All-School Cultural Festival invites middle school students to examine the histories, traditions, and identities that contribute to the state’s character.
Through preparation, participation, and reflection, students explore how culture influences identity, strengthens community connections, and contributes to New Mexico’s ongoing story.
High School ALL School
In 1776, New Mexico was already shaped by multiple cultures contributing to the region’s identity. Over time, additional communities from across the nation and around the world have enriched the state’s cultural landscape. The All-School Cultural Festival provides high school students with an opportunity to examine the histories, traditions, and lived experiences that continue to define New Mexico.
Through research, preparation, and active engagement during the festival, students analyze how culture shapes identity, strengthens community connections, and contributes to both state and national narratives. The experience encourages thoughtful dialogue, respect for diverse perspectives, and deeper civic awareness.
